Ochre, vermilion, and teal watercolor circles joined by fine paths, evoking a Tree of Life and a network of beliefs, with Hebrew letters woven into the map.

THE YUDDISH LANGUAGE

A language for
changing your mind.

Yuddish is a constructed language inspired by Eliezer Yudkowsky, Bayesianism, and LessWrong, built from Yiddish vocabulary.

In Yuddish, when you say something is true, you also say how sure you are and why you believe it. You put a number on your confidence and say whether you saw it yourself, heard it from someone else, or worked it out. Questions, wishes, and commands have their own grammar, too.

“If somebody builds a too-powerful AI, under present conditions, I expect that every single member of the human species and all biological life on Earth dies shortly thereafter.”
